Our Collaborative Method

Co-creating pathways for sustainable transformation

Innovative Paths works hand in hand with organizations and communities through collaborative research, education, and organizational transformation to understand and address complex challenges.

Our Core Process

Community-Based Participatory Research

Qualitative Research

Our creative qualitative approach uses in-depth interviews, focus groups, case studies, photovoice and document and artifact analysis, among other methods to understand lived experience and context. We collaboratively formulate questions and choose the methods best suited to the organization and community.

Collaborative Community Mapping

We build mutual trust and work as equal partners and co-researchers. Participants map assets, challenges, relationships, governmental and organizational resources, culture, social capital, and resilience so that priorities and opportunities become visible.

Participatory Analysis

Stakeholders help design the research, create instruments, collect information, monitor progress, and analyze findings. Together we identify what is working, what is not, and why, then co-create thoughtful, purposeful, and sustainable interventions grounded in local reality.

Capacity Building

Education is at the core of our work. We co-construct knowledge and share resources with nonprofit leaders, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders, training participants to become co-researchers who can sustain, evaluate, and adapt the plan as needs and circumstances change.

Our Commitment to Lasting Impact

Sustained Partnership: 9-Month Follow-Up

We support implementation and check in after one, three, six, and nine months. During this nine-month period, partners receive six complimentary one-hour consultations whenever support is needed. Additional assistance is available at our hourly fee, and we remain open to negotiated flat-fee consulting so the plan can be sustained and adapted over time.
